A Chiropractor is a healthcare professional that focuses on disease prevention, health maintenance and improvement of disorders that manifest as mechanical problems. When aches and pains are getting you down a chiropractor can help. Treatment involves hands on and non-invasive techniques to move structures of the body such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, bones with the goal of relieving pain, increasing motion, preventing injury and returning you to your activities. This outcome is achieved through stretching and relaxing tissue, to assist the healing process, and exercise to strengthen muscles.

Spinal Manipulative Therapy

This is also commonly referred to as the chiropractic adjustment. This is a technique that is used to restore pain free range of motion and stretch muscles. It can result in the release of pressure that can sound like a “crack or pop.”

Muscle Release Therapy

We use muscle release therapy in conjunction with other techniques. Occasionally our discomfort can be due to “tight” muscles that just won’t relax. Using knowledge of anatomy we attempt to isolate problematic muscles and relax them by applying pressure and moving it through various ranges of motion.

Stretching and Exercise

Regular stretching and exercise are an important component of a healthy lifestyle. It is recommended that an individual achieve 150minutes of exercise per week. This has been shown to have significant benefits for the prevention of diabetes, heart disease, stroke and much more. We include stretching and exercise as an important component of your health care plan with each visit to help you achieve your goals.

Radial Shockwave Therapy

Therapeutic grade radial shockwaves are generated when compressed air pushes on a metal projectile in the head applied to the skin. This is very helpful in the management of damaged or degenerated soft tissues. While some find it somewhat uncomfortable during the procedure it typically provides relief of pain and muscle tension following that can last from hours to days. It typically requires 3-5 treatments and it is important that you continue with recommendations for exercises and post treatment management following your care.
